Job Description

We are looking for a UX Specialist, who is/are able to fulfill the following requirements:

Duration: 6 Months

Requirements:

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- At least eight years proven experience in leading and executing UX delivery in complex stakeholder environments
- Good understanding of UX principles, best practices and frameworks (including human-centred design and design thinking)
- Collaborative, curious, empathetic, problem solving and open-minded attitude
- Strong sense of ownership and proactive advocacy for end-users
- Excellent communications skills with customers, stakeholders and product teams
- Hands-on experience executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement practical, actionable plans that are coherent and understood by all stakeholders
- Ability to present and discuss technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
- Strong experience in software design and development using the Agile scrum delivery framework within a high velocity delivery environment
- Experience in user research, usability testing, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, prototyping, and translating findings into product design specifications
- Experience using design tools such as Figma and collaboration tools such as Miro
- Bachelor's degree in one of these fields: Design, Computing, Communications, Business or Creative Arts
- Experience in mining or manufacturing sector highly desirable but not essential 

Mandatory Skills:

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Delivery: You will advise and work directly with customers and product owners to develop user-centric solutions that directly complement technical back-ends of the solutions.To be successful, you will need to build close relationships with interdisciplinary delivery teams, external and internal, and multi-task and perform well under pressure. 
- Understand business requirements and technical limitations
- Formulate tailored design approach, activities and metrics, and clearly articulate to product owners, product teams, customers and stakeholders
- Work with product owners to define both long and short-term visions, outcomes and roadmaps for digital systems
- Conduct heuristic evaluations and gain familiarity with out-of-the-box systems to be implemented
- Conceive and conduct user research to gain and validate understanding of end-user needs, behaviours and perceptions
- Translate research findings into design wireframes for digital systems
- Build prototypes and design usability tests to validate designs based on end-user needs and requirements
- Identify issues, manage changes and pivot the UX plan when necessary
- Define the visual style per design guidelines
- Track UX metrics and report on the success of UX improvements

UX Strategy & Embedment: You will develop the UX strategy and drive embedment for Commercial -adapting from client's UX strategy where possible- and continually seek out opportunities to improve on the quality of UX processes, deliverables and outcomes. 

To be successful, you need to have keen awareness of global UX standards and best practices, gain a strong understanding of Commercial's project roadmap and drive internal collaboration to anticipate and meet UX resourcing requirements
- Develop standardized processes for activities such as UX discovery, user interviews and usability testing
- Maintain and update UX artefacts such as user journey maps, personas, wireframes, prototypes and research reports, and develop new artefacts in accordance with BHP's brand standards as required
- Leverage and deploy appropriate UX metrics, such as the System Usability Scale, to track UX improvements on Commercial projects over time
- Develop UX case studies for completed Commercial projects
- Ensure consistency of UX support across Commercial projects
